Pink Shirt Day

Yesterday was Pink Shirt Day! What is Pink Shirt Day, you may ask? It is a form of solidarity against all forms of bullying, you can read more info including the story of how Pink Shirt day began on their website HERE.

Cadence was so excited about winning this shirt at school! She had worn a pink shirt from home, but a whole bunch of these t-shirts were brought to her school and raffled off and she won one!

A week with family

Happy Monday! Did you have a good weekend? We had a pretty quiet weekend after a busy week of travelling and visiting. As you know, last week was Cadence's birthday so I have a whole mish~mash of pictures to share today. I should warn you that this post is pretty picture laden :)

Like I said earlier, last week was Cadence's birthday so she got to open some presents before breakfast on her special day.Needless to say she was a little excited   :)

Happy 8th Birthday Cadence!

Although I said in my last post that I wouldn't post anymore this week, I felt that my grandma and Pat's aunt wouldn't want our sadness to overshadow the happiness of a certain sweet girls' birthday :)

And it certainly is a happy day as our sweet Cady-boo is turning 8 today!  I know I say this for every birthday and every year but I can't believe how fast time has gone! It still feels like not long ago our little girl was this adorable baby....

A Sad Week

 

We have had some sad news this week in our family. On February 14th my grandmother lost her fight with cancer and on February 17th my husband's aunt lost her fight with cancer. So, I won't be around here on this little blog for the rest of the week as we will be journeying to afar and spending time with family and relatives. Thank you for your understanding and I will see you back here next week.

My Scraproom/Playroom

Thank you so much those of you who have stayed around while my blogging has been so sporadic! I think I've got the kinks worked out and the computer problems fixed too!

towards saving my sanity!

Hi everyone! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! I have to say I was quite flabbergasted at the amount of people who popped in to check out my little piece of blog land here (Hello and welcome to any and all new readers who decided to come back today :). On Friday I had linked up to the Young House Love blog for their thrift shop challenge and after a couple hours, I was curious to see if anyone had peeked in. Well imagine my shock and amazement that I had over 300 new page views (I normally get about 20 a day!) So thank you again for your interest!

OK, back to saving my (and my husband's!) sanity. For the last week or so, I had kind of let go of doing a lot of housework while I got our master bedroom painted (more on that later this week!) but I have to say, this was the worst corner,

YIKES! That was the disaster in the corner of our dining room. Now, I have to say, I love this little cupboard and it is in the perfect spot for keeping all our kids craft supplies and puzzles and table toys organized, but as you can see, that just wasn't happening.

The YHL Macklemore Thrift Shop Challenge

      Last Friday, I had a good laugh when I did my (almost) daily check in at Young House Love and watched the hilarious music video of "Thrift Shop" by Macklemore ft. Ryan Lewis. You can check that original post out HERE and the updated post of their haul HERE. Just watch the video and you will see what I'm talking about! Anyways, I decided to accept the "(completely unofficial) Macklemore Thrift Shop Challenge" and see what I could find. Beware, extreme close-ups of my face coming right up ;) As per the rules of the challenge, here I am in the parking lot of the thrift store ( I promise it's a thrift store even if there is no visible sign, the exterior has just been painted) with my $20 (yes that's a Canadian twenty :)
